BELL X1 Chop Chop
Chopping Board
During my internship with Designgoat, the company was asked by Irish band Bell X1 to produce a limited edition chopping board for the release of their album, Chop Chop. We made 300 solid oak chopping boards with a hidden slot for the CD, and branded each board with a stamp.
Design
Process
One of the main design challenges was to house the CD inside the chopping board. We also had to find a way to make 300 of them in the most efficient way. By laser cutting a guide, we were able to accurately router out the oak in a limited time frame.
